| Is it possible to make changes to these, or are they part of a stock theme?
The previous theme had new message icons which were easier to spot. A slight color shift might make the current icons stand out a bit.
I am also puzzled by the new message icon staying on in "Questions and Answers". This seemed to happen for me when the announcements were added. Is this happening for anyone else, or just me.

| Not staying on for me - as for switching them, if you have a suggested set to import, feel free to point it out - they can be changed outside of the pre-formatted stuff. | |

| It is off now, there was a thread which I hadn't read (and didn't notice).
When you say set, does this mean I could send you an individual image or do they need to be in a package? I could drop the offending icon into Photoshop and make it stand out a bit.

| All appropriate & the "Hot + New" icon switched to that brighter one. Hopefully no one will miss the "Hot" animating it, since that would be a bear to edit. | |

| It might not be too bad to edit. I'd like to see the icon so I can grab a copy.
I wanted to see what the reaction was to the non-animated one first.

| The editing was easy enough, getting it to stop resetting the palette was tough (but trivial once I figured it out). Need to use a restrictive web palette. Here is one icon: https://2img.net/r/ihimizer/img87/1151/ifolderhotv2uo2.gif[/url[url=https://2img.net/r/ihimizer/img230/4242/ifoldernewbigv2gb3.gif]https://2img.net/r/ihimizer/img230/4242/ifoldernewbigv2gb3.gif Edit: I have no idea why I did the first one, that shouldn't be red. | |

| Ya should change the forum locked one so that its not slightly red. Always been bugging me with those two locked forums, because it looks like I should be trying to read em.
Love the new brighter icons =D

| The Announcements one (the big skull as seen over in Questions and Answers) is also reallly hard to tell the difference between read and unread, it could use the brightening treatment too | |

| All installed - locked is INdistinguishable from old, but the locked icon makes it clear anyhow at least.

| I'm having trouble parsing that sentence. Do you mean that the icons are not very distinguishable? If so, what do you think would improve them?
My main issue is addressed: I can see which forums I need to read rather easily. I'm happy to make any other changes as requested.
On the locked icon, the ram looks a bit too cyan.

| That was posting too early after waking up - it's not very distinct from the old - but the icon in the corner makes it easy to tell what it is regardless of it matching or not. | |

| Gah, why do the locked forums suddenly have the bright red icons that make you think theres new posts to read there? Why not unlock em anyways and just disable peoples post ability there or something. | |

| Adjusted the forum icon to another available completely distinguishable as different. (Used the new bright locked for actual unread locked posts) | |

| The red locked icon was getting to me as well. Good UI design should be consistent, and using red to mean "new messages" seems like a good rule. I haven't seen what Zuth has replaced this with, but earlier this morning I attempted another version. (This made more complicated by the fact that I didn't have the original icon and had to free draw that damn skull) https://2img.net/r/ihimizer/img520/5234/ifolderlockbluevk3.gif | |

| http://hitskin.com/themes/11/23/51/i_folder_locked_big.gif for the original - recommendation would be something equally "washed out" in color like the no new posts - that blue is pretty intense as it is right now. (Definitely distinguishes it, just IMO shouldn't be bright enough to draw the eye) | |

| I think another notch or two - its not intense, but still draws the eye a little. | |

| After testing the newer one I can say I was wrong, old was pretty much a bulls-eye. | |

| Looks way better than the red one, but I'm still not sure why we're trying to draw attention to the locked forums. | |
